Old Woodstock Mock Mayor Celebration
Sat August 14th at The Black Prince

Ancient traditions and traditional games, BBQ, stalls and live music.
The newly elected Mock Mayor always ends up in the river Glyme!

This event starts at 3.00pm and does not finish until late…great for
kids in the afternoon and early evening with tug of war, punch and judy,
coconut shy, ‘slippery pole jousting’, crockery smashing, Morris Men,
fiddlers, the ‘Ducking Stool’ and much more…in the evening, live music,
dancing and more BBQ.

At 6.00 speeches are made and the new Mock Mayor is elected and leads a
procession up into the town for a ‘face off’ with the Town Mayor!! The
procession then moves back to The Black Prince and the new Mock Mayor is
tossed into the river!
