The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock
The museum features brand new galleries celebrating Oxfordshire’s cultural and historic past – from Roman Times and the wonderful Stonesfield Carpet Textile Trail (on the Woodstock Textile Trail), to present day innovative industries.
Opening Hours: May to September, Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00am – 5.00pm and Sundays from 2.00pm – 5.00pm and October to April, Tuesday to Friday from 10.00am – 4.00pm, Saturdays from 10.00am – 5.00pm and Sundays 2.00pm – 5.00pm. Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays. Telephone: 01993811456

Woodstock Wall HangingsThe story of Woodstock from it’s foundation in Norman Times is told in the embroidered Wall hangings on display in the Town Hall ( www.woodstock-tc.gov.uk). Thirteen colourful scenes show life in the town and the historic which shaped it. The wall hangings have been made by the Woodstock Broderers, and are one of the four attractions on the Woodstock Textile Trail

Blenheim Palace and Park
The ancestral stately home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough - the Palace was designed and built by Sir John Vanbrugh, and the park by 'Cabability' Brown, on a grand scale. Blenheim is also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, who is buried in nearby Bladon.
300 years of enticing tales. A new permanent visitor experience is open upstairs within the heart of the Palace where visitors can discover more details about life at Blenheim Palace over the last three centuries. 'Blenheim Palace: The Untold Story' brings to life enticing tales of the dramatic history, events and of the people who have lived here, through the eyes of the household staff.
The Palace was created a World Heritage Site in 1987 and is surely Britain's Greatest Palace.
Along with the guided tours of the state rooms and long libruary a new state-of-the-art 'Untold Story' exhibition within the Palace opened in 2007 using animated figures and innovative video and projection technology.
Palace opens mid February to early December (for your notification - close 9/12/07; open 16/02/08; close 14/12/08. closed monday's in November and December)
